It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of one of the  original founders of the Laine’s bait legacy, my grandfather, Thomas Ashby Laine Sr. He passed away early Sunday morning surrounded by family  and loved ones. He was a great man and touched many lives as I am continually reminded by the endless stream of memories from not only my  family, but community members, fishing and hunting buddies, and the  many, many returning customers to Laine’s Baits. At the heart of every  memory shared is a man who was the essence of kindness and would give the shirt off his back if needed. Grandpa, I’m really going to miss  shrimping and fishing with you.
